The latest agenda of the EPL includes five substitutions that might be already back the next season. The top five clubs eligible to vote for the changes will most probably back the decision, as well as the Professional Footballers’ Association.
Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, confirmed he supported the suggestion from the EPL.
Still, some believe it might give extra advantage to clubs with larger budget which makes this move unfair to fewer wealthy clubs. However, most of the representatives of the ten top clubs that will vote on the June meeting seem to support this move. For instance, the PFA chair claims there is no unfair advantage in five substitutions, and most foreign leagues successfully apply this rule for many years.
