Michael Zerafa (30-4, 19KOs) of Australia could fight Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan (42-2-1, 37KOs).
At least, Zerafa himself told Fox Sports Australia television channel that he and Golovkin have reached a verbal agreement to fight for the world middleweight titles in Australia next March.
Zerafa, 30, also said that if he defeats the 40-year-old GGG, he will demand a meeting with another Australian, Tim Tszyu.
That said, it was also previously noted that Golovkin should share the ring with his IBF mandatory challenger Brazilian Olympic medalist Esquiva Falcao (30-0, 20 KOs) around this time frame.
Let’s see what GGG, who was also advised to give up his titles and opt for more lucrative fights, chooses in the end.
