Former Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard could lead Leeds United.
It is reported that the club’s management is considering him as the main candidate for the post of head coach after the dismissal of Jesse Marsch who held the position.
Former Spanish Rayo Vallecano head coach Andoni Iraola was also mentioned as a potential candidate. It was also reported that Mauricio Pochettino and former River Plate frontman Marcelo Gallardo turned down an offer to become the Yorkshire team’s head coach.
Gerrard previously coached Aston Villa. He left it in October 2022. Under Gerrard, the club played 40 games in which it won 13 wins, drew eight times, and lost another 19 times.
Leeds is currently in the EPL standings near the relegation zone. The team ranks 16th with 19 points.
