On its official website, the Madrid-based Real Madrid announced the transfer of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Royal Club has loaned the goalkeeper from London’s Chelsea for one season. The loan agreement is set until June 2024. There is no mention of the possibility of purchasing Arrizabalaga.
Tomorrow, August 15th, Arrizabalaga will be presented to fans and the media as a new player for Real Madrid. He will play with the number 46.
Earlier, the main goalkeeper of Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois, suffered a severe cruciate ligament injury, which will cause him to miss a significant part of the new season. Arrizabalaga has been acquired as a replacement for the Belgian.
The 28-year-old Arrizabalaga played 39 matches for Chelsea in the previous season, conceded 45 goals, and kept 12 clean sheets.
