French Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar plans to end his professional playing career with the Parisian club.
According to The Athletic’s insider David Ornstein, the Brazilian forward does not want to play for any other club. His contract with PSG runs until 2027. It is not yet known whether the Brazilian will end his career at the age of 35. Perhaps he will sign another contract with PSG.
After moving from Barcelona in 2017 for a record 222 million euros, Neymar helped PSG reach the Champions League final in 2020 and take 13 trophies in France.
Forbes estimates that during the Brazilian’s performance, the value of the club has grown from $841 million to $3.2 billion.
The fact that Neymar has become the most expensive footballer in history means that a potential buyer would have to invest a considerable amount to acquire him. Neymar wants to play for PSG for the rest of his career, and that does not depend on the financial performance of a possible deal. The Brazilian wants to help the club succeed, particularly in the Champions League, which PSG has so far failed to win.
Neymar has played 29 games for PSG in all competitions this season, scoring 18 goals and making 16 assists. On 19 February he suffered an ankle injury and is out for the rest of the season.
