Lazio and Italy forward Ciro Immobile had a serious traffic accident in Rome. The incident happened on April 16.
A streetcar ran over his car at an intersection and seriously damaged it. Other cars and several people on public transport were also injured in the accident. Seven of them were taken to the hospital.
Lazio reports that he suffered a spinal deformity and a compound fracture of his right rib due to the accident. The footballer remains under medical supervision.
According to Sky Sports, he will need at least 15 days to recover.
The 33-year-old Immobile played 23 matches in Serie A this season, scoring ten goals and giving three assists.
