Matthew Judon was ejected for hitting the official during the mess on the field; the fans are protesting against the Committee decision
The eleventh ejection of the current NFL season made a fuss among Twitter and Facebook users. Most of the American football enthusiasts and Ravens fans agree that the decision to eject Matthew Judon, the Ravens linebacker, was unfair and had no significant base upon it.
The incident occured on the football field during the match between Ravens and Steelers. The fight between two members of the rivaling teams Peters and Johnson involved the other members of both teams and, as it turned out later, affected the whole consecution of the NFL season 2020 and its prognosis.
It is evident from the video that has appeared on the Internet, that Judon was trying to free his arm and in the attempt to break away from being held by a coach he hit the official.
According to Judon himself and John Harbaugh, the coach of Ravens, the linebacker did not have any intent to hit the official; most witnesses claim the same. However, the punishment can not be declined and Judon will not participate in the coming several matches.
This resulted in a wide response from the fan community and drew the media attention as the decision of Baltimore management is contradictive. The main protest against the ejection is that the NFL does not have any rule regarding “intent contacting the official”, which defined the reasons for the ejection. This may, however, become a precedent for such cases.
This is the second loss of a player for Ravens in the season 2020, who has been already deprived of the key team member due to his severe injuries. It is not likely that the next matches will bring success to the team and fans hope for the soonest return of the missing members.
