Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay have announced their intention to bid to host the 2030 World Cup.
It is noted that the political and sports authorities of the four countries met in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, to outline the highlights of the official candidacy.
The goal is to mark the centennial of the World Cup in South America, where the first World Cup was held in Uruguay in 1930.
Earlier in Europe, Portugal and Spain officially nominated themselves to host the 2030 World Cup. In 2022, the World Cup is to be held in Qatar, and in 2026, the tournament is jointly organized by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
