The National Hockey League (NHL) club Dallas Stars has unveiled a statue in honor of former team forward Mike Modano.
Situated in front of the American Airlines Center, the pedestal now stands proudly alongside the monument of former Dallas Mavericks NBA player Dirk Nowitzki.
Modano, a legendary figure in Dallas Stars history, spent an illustrious 20 seasons with the franchise. During his tenure, he became the franchise leader in goals (561), points (1374), and games played (1499) among American-born hockey players in the NHL.
The unveiling of Modano’s statue pays homage to his immense contributions to the Dallas Stars organization and the sport of hockey as a whole. His impact on and off the ice has left an indelible mark on the franchise and has solidified his legacy as one of the greatest players in NHL history.
