Tottenham forward Son Heung-min has been named Asia’s Footballer of the Year 2022.
The 30-year-old South Korean national team player won the title for the sixth consecutive year. He was chosen by a vote in which Asian soccer journalists and experts participated.
Son Heung-min earned 256 points in the poll, well ahead of his competitors. Mehdi Taremi (Porto, Iran) and Salem Al-Dawsari (Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabia) were tied for second or third place, both with 120 points.
Heung-min Son played 28 matches this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.
Recall that the best player of the year 2022 in South America was voted by Argentine Lionel Messi, and in Europe – by Frenchman Kylian Mbappe. Both represent Paris PSG.
