“Chelsea” has entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Kylian Mbappe. The London club is offering monetary compensation and one of its players for the 24-year-old Frenchman.
According to Daily Record, Chelsea’s owner Todd Bowley has already held talks with PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and likely received the green light for the deal.
The Parisians want to sell Mbappe this summer to avoid losing him for free in the summer of 2024. Real Madrid, who is the main contender for the footballer, is unlikely to sign him during the summer transfer window.
Liverpool is also interested in Mbappe and is willing to take him on loan, as well as one of the Saudi clubs. However, the player himself is not considering such a career development option.
Earlier, Mbappe declined to activate the option to extend his contract with PSG until 2025. After this, the Parisian club excluded him from the squad for the preseason training camp in Japan and put him up for transfer.
Mbappe joined PSG in 2017 and, as part of the team, became a five-time champion of France and won the country’s Cup three times.
