The Baltimore Ravens decided to hire a person that has already proven himself. According to John Harbaugh, the head coach of Ravens, Mike is a genuine part of the team — ‘A Raven through and through’.
Harbaugh believes that McDonald’s will perfectly meet the needs of the team as he knows their system and perfectly knows the ins and outs of Baltimore’s defense.
He spent seven seasons with the Ravens as a part of the coaching staff under Harbaugh’s command and was later promoted as a defensive assistant, defensive back, and linebackers coach. In 2020, he left Ravens to spend the next year as the defensive coordinator at the University of Michigan.
